Watch: Anti government protest in Haiti, shops looted

Hundreds gathered in downtown Port-au-Prince on Tuesday to demonstrate against economic mismanagement and corruption and to ask for President Jovenel Moise to step down.

Looters took control of a portion of the city's business district, breaking into stores and carrying off anything they could. A gas station and a number of vehicles were set on fire by the angry group.

Police fired tear gas and live shots, and arrested a number of people.

An Associated Press journalist saw at least one person fatally shot, apparently by nearby police.

Protesters are angry about skyrocketing inflation and the government's failure to prosecute embezzlement from a multi-billion Venezuelan programme that sent discounted oil to Haiti.
